San Diego Temple in Black & White

I'm back in Manti again. I was in Nevada and Utah for a few days on business and heading home, only to find myself in Manti when the snow really picked up and the temperature dropped (it's about 10 deg. outside).  With no compelling reason to drive on icy roads I decided to stay at my favorite motel in Manti, the Temple View Lodge. It's reasonably priced, nicely furnished,  and right across the street (to the southeast) from the Temple. The mountains from Salt Lake to Provo were spectacular with lots of fresh powder. Mt. Timpanogos caught the setting sun and was shining through the low clouds along the benches as I drove by. I'm looking forward to seeing the Manti Temple under a fresh blanket of snow in the morning.
I've been getting a lot of requests for a San Diego Temple image lately, more along the lines of the newer style images I've been releasing. Well, here it is. I got the clouds I was looking for, and they hung around for a while. I made several sets of exposures until about 30 minutes after sunset. I like the feel of some of them with the Temple lights mixing with the ambient light, but this is the one that first grabbed me. I used to have a hard time making up my mind when editing or sorting batches of similar images. Now I just go with my gut instinct. Sometimes I'll go back later and have an entirely different feeling about them. It's always nice to be able to work on those too and end up finding people who like them better than my initial choice.

I would like to see this in sepia tone. I was married in the San Diego Temple, but my home has a more country feel. This Temple has a very modern look so I think a sepia would give it a more aged look to go with my home.

    I love your work!
