Mt. Timp Evening

I had to travel to Salt Lake City for a seminar in the spring, so I decided to leave a day early and visit a few Temples while I was up there. My plan was to leave early in the morning and arrive at the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in time for a late day/early evening shoot. I hit a few areas of road work, but wasn't slowed down too much until just north of Kanab. Then we came to a dead stop for what seemed like an hour. Then I ended up behind the one guy who didn't seem to be in any hurry at all. By the time I hit the freeway I was way behind schedule.
More construction in the Provo area didn't help and I got to the Temple just after sunset. No time for any real shooting with the big camera - just scouting for later. I walked around the Temple in the fading light and shot several dozen images. I like to review them later and see what angles and perspectives look most promising.
This is a low-quality hand-held shot from my digital SLR. I always like this kind of light, with the rich blue sky slightly lighter than the Temple. This is the back of the Temple, as I'm shooting toward the northwest.
